About The Ingela Trio of Bags:
“Ingela” is a trio of bag patterns. You will get the patterns for one Tote Bag, one Crossbody Bag and one Zipper Wallet in one purchase.
These three bags are easy to make, even for a brave beginner. I have used details that are similar from one bag to the other, which makes the bags easier to sew once you get the hang of a few details. I was surprised at how fun it was to make a matching set. Whether you make them for yourself, for a friend or family member or for sale, these bags are sure to grab attention from all kinds of bag addicts.
I have made versions of these bags with outdoor fabric, cork and vinyl, and I love to use waterproof canvas for the lining. On all tote bags I have used rubber foam for the sides and bottom, and regular woven interfacing for the other things. The waterproof canvas gives a sturdiness to the bags that is totally unique.
The two bags and the wallet are made with one main fabric and one accent fabric (vinyl, cork or leather) for piping, the bottom and decorative details.
THE TOTE BAG is large enough to carry your laptop computer and other stuff you need kept safe and secure. It has a recessed zipper closure so nobody can stick their hand in it when you’re standing in line somewhere. It features decorative metal strap connectors from sallytomato.com, but the pattern comes with strap connectors you can make yourself. There is a zipper pocket on the back of the tote bag, another one on the inside, together with two slip pockets. The handles are long enough to carry the bag on your shoulders and you can make them with an accent decor strap if you like. There are rivets on the straps, and the pattern comes with a tassel as well, so you can clip one to the bag for decoration.
THE CROSSBODY BAG will fit your phone, wallet, sunglasses and other small necessities. There is one zipper pocket on the back of the bag and one on the inside lining. There is also a slip pocket inside, divided in two. The adjustable cross body strap can have a decorative strap in the accent color if you like. The strap connector comes with decorative O-rings that the strap is connected to. There are rivets on the strap and the strap connectors, which is both decorative and give extra strength. It looks good with a zipper pull strap that makes it easy to grab the zipper pull when you want to open the bag.
THE ZIPPER WALLET has 5 card slots on the inside plus plenty room for cash, receipts and a lipstick. The strap connector in the side looks good with an O-ring or a D-ring that makes it easy to grab the wallet out of a purse. You can even walk around with it hanging on your finger from that O-ring.
About The Bag Patterns for the Ingela Trio:
There are three files to download after you have bought these bag patterns with 3 bags. The page with the links pops up in a new window right after you have paid. You just go back to the previous page to click on the next link, and then the next. It should be really easy. You will also receive an email with the links to the bag patterns and instructions to your email inbox. If you don’t, please check your spam folder. One file is the bag patterns, which you have to print out. The other two are instructions for how to sew it. One version has no photos for cheaper printing, and the other contains photos that you can look at on your I-pad or computer while you are sewing your bag and following along. The bag patterns are color-coded according to the fabrics you use, and there are labels you can cut out to pin to the pieces of fabric you have cut. There is also a material list, telling you what you need of fabrics and hardware to make these bags. There is a cutting list as well, to tell you how many of each piece you need to cut, and in which fabric.
