Flora Burn was a pirate captain operating on the East Coast of North America. She started her pirate career in 1741. She arrived on the Eastern Seaboard, as if from nowhere, following the eradication of most pirates by the Royal Navy. Despite growing tensions, distrust, and spying between Americans and British, she shrouded the activities of her crew in near-total secrecy. With the American Revolution approaching, she and her crew vanished from history without leaving a trace.

I have made this shoulder bag in two different fabrics. You can use vinyl, cork or furniture/outdoor fabrics for the main fabric, and cork, vinyl or leather for the accent fabric. The lining is made with waterproof canvas (which offers great protection of your things if the bag gets wet for some reason). If you use vinyl, cork or leather, you don’t need extra interfacing to make this bag sturdy. However, if you make it with any kinds of fabric, you need some sturdy interfacing like rubber foam or Decoville Heavy. Flora Burn shoulder bag is surprisingly easy to make. Great for even less fearless bag makers. You can follow along with my YouTube video tutorials and see how I put this bag together. Of course you can also use it as a crossbody bag if you prefer that. The decorative front zippers makes the bag expand a few inches, so you can fit more things in when you need it.
