You can use one or two different fabrics, or a whole collection of fabrics to make it a patchwork backpack. The bindings can be made of the main fabric, the lining fabric or a contrasting fabric. You can use cotton and outdoor fabrics. This bag can be washed by hand. There is 1/4 inch rubber foam between the main fabric and the lining, which makes the backpack sturdy, yet soft to the touch. Rachel Backpack is surprisingly easy to make and can be made by someone who have some experience in bag making. You can follow along with my YouTube video tutorial to see how I put this backpack together. The decorative front pocket with a zipper gives a lot of room inside the pocket so you can easily access things when you need them. Rachel backpack is perfect for hiking on shorter trips, beach walking and day trips. You can even use it as an overnight bag.
