If you think a handbag is only an item you use to carry your most essential belongings for your everyday life, you are missing out.
A handbag is so much more than a container for practical use. It is an opportunity to give the world a little glimpse into who you really are!
First and foremost it is a personal statement. Here’s what you’re showing everyone who sees you with your handbag: This is the handbag I have chosen. This is the best handbag I could find that expresses my personality, my playfulness, my creativity, my sense of fashion and style, and my need for being categorized into certain groups.
In some cases people use a handbag to let the world know they have more money than most, or at least are willing to spend their money on an item that comes in thousands of copies.
Here’s an example. You are into expensive luxury brands. You tell yourself it’s because they make you feel good. Maybe they do. You tell yourself it’s because you like the quality of the bag. Even if it’s made of plastic. Maybe you just want to show everyone you meet that you had the money to buy this bag, even if you’re only one of several thousand people who did. Maybe you want everyone else to admire you and be envious of you because you could buy it. Well, thousands of this bag is being produced on a license. And then you have the tens of thousands of copies that are being produced by bag pirates. It is hard for people to tell the difference. Perhaps you want to be perceived as wealthy, because this will open doors for you. Unfortunately, a $3,000 handbag is probably not enough. But as long as you feel it enhances your identity, it might be enough for you.
My question is this: If you can afford to pay $3,000 for a handbag, why don’t you get a handbag that is unique, one of a kind and something that will truly show your personality and style?
I bet a lot of bag makers (you’ll find them on YouTube) would be willing to make you a very unique handbag for $3,000. You can choose the material, the color and the design. You can chose what details you want on the outside and the inside. This is a bag you design. Now you have the right to be proud. Nobody else has a copy of it. It is unique and it is YOU. Wouldn’t that be a much more interesting and satisfying way to spend your money?
And if you happen to be a bag maker yourself, why not use the opportunity to show who you are? Show off your creativity and only wear unique bags for yourself at least!
